A Day of Hope and Healing!
On Saturday, August 30th, 2025, the sun rose over Karmo Transformer in Abuja with a promise of change. YARDI’s team rolled up their sleeves (and stethoscopes!) to deliver a free medical outreach that turned into a lifeline for 322 incredible community members. From bustling families to wise elders, everyone walked away feeling seen, cared for, and empowered. This wasn’t just a check-up, it was a celebration of health, dignity, and unbreakable community spirit!
Spotlight on Our Superhero Medical Squad
Our dream team of doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and lab scientists brought the magic:
- 🩺 General consultations to listen, diagnose, and guide
- 🧪 Rapid tests for malaria, Hepatitis B & C, and HIV
- 📊 Blood sugar and pressure checks to catch risks early
- 💊 On-site treatments and FREE meds, because no one should wait or worry!
We aimed to consult 100 souls but blew past that with 113 direct doctor visits. Talk about exceeding expectations!
The Faces That Made It Unforgettable
This outreach lit up lives across generations and genders:
- Gender Breakdown (Consultations): Women led the charge with 80 strong (that’s over 70%!), proving once again how vital targeted care is for our queens in underserved spots. Men? 33 trailblazers right beside them.
- Age Vibes:
- Little ones (0-12): 13 tiny warriors getting a healthy head start
- Teens (13-19): 15 dreamers fueling their futures
- Young adults (20-35): 26 go-getters tackling life head-on
- Prime timers (36-45): 25 building strong foundations
- Seasoned sages (46+): 34 legends, our highest group, reminding us chronic care matters now more than ever!
Early detections of malaria, hypertension, and high blood sugar meant real interventions and real smiles. One elder shared, “This is the first time in years I’ve felt truly heard.” Cue the goosebumps! 😊
