Thematic areas
Women and the girl-child
In our society, women and the girl-child still face several challenges that are often rooted in social, cultural, economic, and political factors.
Deep-seated gender norms and discriminatory practices provoke undue gender inequality and discrimination against women, child marriage, gender-based violence, negative media representation of women, poor political representation etc. These often relegate women and girls to subordinate roles in society, impacting their access to education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and decision-making processes. Many young girls are so poor that they cannot even afford basic sanitary pads for their monthly needs. Supporting women’s capability to succeed and express themselves freely leads to healthy, productive and stable households, commercially viable enterprises, and the well-being of communities and nations.

Our intervention
We support research-based and citizen-led advocacy and campaign for gender inclusion, safe spaces for women and increased value for the roles of women in the socio-economic and socio-political prosperity of our society. We mentor and provide educational and skills training support for women. We donate basic sanitary pads to women and adolescent girls. We design and deliver sensitization programs for women and the girl child especially the less privileged. We campaign against the traditional norms that relegate women to the background and promote respectful and equitable consideration of women in decision-making processes.
